Chapel Hill launched a new Economic Development website today to attract investment and support small businesses with resources and guides.
The site features a video and detailed permit information (created with local partners) that highlight the town’s quality of life and appeal to entrepreneurs.
🏛️ Government
The Town of Chapel Hill will begin construction on the Fordham Boulevard Sidepath later this month between Cleland Drive + Willow Drive to offer a dedicated route for pedestrians and cyclists.
Crews will bring heavy equipment on September 28 and aim to open the path by winter.
🏥 Health
UNC Health in Chapel Hill reversed its plan to use a bidding system for extra nursing shifts after social media backlash & instead introduced Carolina Premium Shifts so nurses receive equal or higher pay.
The change comes as staff worry about fairness and hospital understaffing.
